Denso Update 4.40
Maps download for DENSO unit. Ford Denso Navigation + Maps Download links [2012. My Ford Touch Problems- New Software Update - Duration.
You did not mention what model car you have? Where and How did you acquire the genuine disc? As far as my experience has been, firmware updates and map DVD are not packaged together. My system was updated at the dealer for 1/2 hour labour. A rip off but not the end of the world. The X-type system has used dual layer DVD from the beginning, (and I dont think that an update would bring any DVD player up from single to dual layer machine.) I have copied a Nav disc sucessfully. Not sure about PTP ot OPT but it is possible.
I do know mine are a set and the NAV DVD 2008-2009 which I believe is the latest. The unit is very temperamental and situated in a stupid place in the boot I insulated mine with polystyrene last winter as it would not read the disc, also the connections in the boot can get dirty or loose, it might pay to disconnect the unit and check the wire connectors It may cure the bad reading since I did mine it has been fine. On a lighter note I use a Plextor dvd writer its the only one to last more than a year and a bit, its now 3years old I burn a lot of discs I burned mine at 2x using Linux with Nero I only use verbatim and Linux. Hi Kelvin, when you get a chance can you look at the part number on your DVD ROM drive and what the s/w firmware that shows on the diagnostics of the head unit to confirm your thoughts! I have downloaded three different update cd from different sites and they all have the 3 files on them:- dates are 2001 2006 and 2005 for the 080.bmx and the loading.kwi and the M_FLASH etc. Thanks steve.
My unit comes up with the dreaded message everytime i try different media 'The Disk inserted is not a MAP dvd' I then decided to buy a set of Discs for the WEST EUROPE 2010 from mynavishop to prove if it was my discs or drive which is at fault! As mentioned, the update 4.40 worked and that was burnt onto a DVD-R so my Lense liked that disc! I then put the 2010 MAP dvd in and the dreaded message showed again. This has lead me to believe i have a tempremental lense in the DVD ROM drive or a DODGY MAP Disc??
A month later we got word of more manufacturing problems due to a shortage of frames, leaving the company unable to fulfill demand. The problems not only ate into Ford's bottom line, but • Ford now has a patent on tech to monitor drivers' changing health behind the wheel and potentially share that information with their healthcare provider. The rather simple idea revolves around a vehicle that would have an account-based system to keep track of people. In an emergency, this technology could even contact paramedics. Ford's patent is titled Medical data acquisition and provision, • Ford is announcing two new recalls that cover a total of 203,494 vehicles in North America. By far the larger of the campaigns is a recall for 203,445 examples of the 2014-2015 Escape and Transit Connect in North America. Specifically, there are 182,520 units recalled in the US, 18,226 in Canada, and 2,699 in Mexico.
For these models, the instrument cluster, warning messages, lights, and chimes •.
If you send your adress to me, I will send the disc. Please return the disc though as it really helped me getting around and it was extremely expensive (4 times the price of a tomtom gps system) Carsten. Hi again, My experience are exactly the same as yours, and I will not buy a car with navigation either. One of the things I heard when I was investigating into this area was, that a newer disc (there should be updates in 2007 and 2009) will update the software inside the nav-system it was after this Vette and Landrover discs should work. If you're interested in testing for this purpose you are welcome to borrow my disc (the maps are western europe).
The Ford DVD are far too expensive even on fleabay! The Jaguar dvd map Discs are very reasonably priced cheers Steve. Hi, You need the mapping disc for the previous version XJ or X-Type.
It was just the DVD in the case, not even an insert. Here are some pics: I guess that means I've got an original Jaguar Nav DVD to sell. My gf's SAAB 95 SC MY06 also has a Denso nav system, and it appears it uses the same LOADING.KWI to update the firmware. General consensus among SAAB owners is that this file contains updates only, as the first generation of discs didn't have it at all while subsequent version have had larger and larger files. These also have the 'agree' button.:-( However, some industrious chaps at the Cadillac and Corvette forums have found several disgnostics codes for their Denso systems. Some of those codes also work in the SAABs so some of them may also work in the Jaguars. Hi, I'm new to these forums and I'm very interested in any information anyone has regarding their experiences with the Denso Navigation System.
I think the problem is that the DVD Rom Player needs a Firmware update which includes code to allow the reader to properly handle a Duel Layer DVD. Can anyone tell me where I might find the firmware update for the Denso Navigation system? For reference purposes and because the finding information on this subject has been so hard I include the following which I believe to be true statements: The 2006-2007 Jaguar Denso Navigation Map DVD may have included firmware code update code which made it possible for the DVD Reader to properly handle the Duel Layer media. Some reports suggest that this firmware was on a separate CD included in the 2006-2007 Map packages. Making Copies of Map DVD’s is not possible for a typical consumer because the original DVD’s are recorded using PTP (Parallel Track Path) rather than OTP (Opposite Track Path). Standard PC burners will only record OTP.
Eric, I have learned that there are two Denso systems - one uses disks which start with Jaguar part number '6W83' and is intended for use in XK & newer XJ. Theother'1X43' is intended for use in older XJ, X-Type& S-Type.
Edited by smjohns, 20 September 2010 - 08:42 AM. A lot of the rapidshare files are fake also instructions are also incorrect. The 2007 firmware update disc will allow you to update to the latest DVD-NAY disc, you also burn the update firmware disc to a CDRW Verbatim it takes upto 15mins to update the firmware then you can read the later DVD nav disc I use the 2008-2009 disc with no problems. I also have the firmware and instructions available. Pm me if I can help. Hello there and thanks for your quick reply but i have upgraded the firmware to the 4.40 which was on a DVD-R as my unit will not read certain media like cd-r or cd-rw etc etc. I bought the update DVD and the euro Map 2010 from mynavishop for 42 euro and still wont read the map dvd which has been burned onto a VERBATIM Dual Layer.
The Disk inserted is not a MAP DVD! Censored back to the drawing board.

I'll try to remember to come back to this forum and report my results with the DVD when (if) I ever receive it. In conclusion: Getting updated navigation media for the Jaguar S-Type R is among the most frustrating and error prone activities I have attempted.
My local dealership (Las Vegas) appear clueless about any firmware update but I shall try them again. It's great to hear that you're able to run copies of MAP disks - my reader rejected copies out of hand declaring them 'Not Map Disc'. The genuine MAP disks it goes to 'Reading MAP DVD' whereitremainsindefinately. I am very interested in hearing the results of this. I recently acquired a 2003 S-Type R from my father.
