I am running the same printing problem (Win 7 64 bit (on a 'new' Sony Vaio), CP1025nw, problem turned up all of sudden - as I see it after HP critical update this summer re communication problem): the documents stay in the printing queue and the printer is reported as off-line. I have a wireless home network where both my HP printers and all the computers are pingable, though.

I don't think the problem lies with the router as I've had no other issues connecting with any other wireless device at home and it does work for short periods of time before it fails. I have moved the printer back and plugged it into the router via ethernet. I may recommend that my dad return his (if he hasn't opened the box yet) if he wants to use his as a completely wireless printer. How long before HP drops software/firmware support for this model?

Now, I suppose I could leave it plugged via ethernet cord, but I specifically bought this printer for it's wireless printing capability and would have liked the option of moving it to another location away from my router if need be. It should work as advertised in my opinion without having to reset/power cycle anything on a regular basis. My dad bought the same printer as it was on sale. He has asked me to set it up but hopefully he hasn't opened his box yet. I know he is hoping to use the wireless function due to the spreadout floorplan of his home office.

Any thoughts? Is HP even planning on providing future support in the form of firmware updates now that the printer is a pretty much a clearance item? Hi, A blinking Wireless light indicates a proper connection and does not indicate any lost of the connection: I would rather suspect some wireless network envoirnment issue which prevent printing while the printer enters a Power Save Mode. Is the printer located nearby your wireless router?

It cannot see any wifi APs any more. I need to do a complet re-retup and than it works again. But after unplugging and re-plugging it back: again the same problem! Its not only not seeing my router any more, also all other APs from my neighbour (that were visible during setup) are also not visible any more. So its clearly a printer-firmware/wifi problem.

I resolved this problem a long time ago but since I'm getting notifications as other people post here, I will post my fix. My particular problem resided with my Router. The Cisco router I was using was a draft-N vintage and it had been a long time since they posted a firmware update.

As the origninal poster said, the only recovery is to reboot the CP1025NW.

Wait till it's ready. As a troubleshooting step, try connecting the printer to the router via an Ethernet cable (cat5). This is just to find out if the printer and the router are having problems communicating via wireless. If you need more assistance just let me know. It is not the network that is the problem, its the printer. The wifi shutts off with my printer after unplugging anr re-prugging again.

Hp laserjet cp1025nw color troubleshooting

Did my utmost to erase them using Window delete functions, REVO and Registry Booster. Hppcp1025LaserJetService (in Control Panel list) persisted along with some Services in Task Mgr. Continuing according to HP Support instructions (but now with little hope only) I did 5. Re-installation of CP1025nw driver package: I choose the Basic option from the HP web which is supposed to be followed installation-wise by an update dated 2011-09-20 (Swedish version). Results a) after Basic installation, before update installation and before restart of PC: writing can be performed via the network, 'Device settings' in Windows menu not available though b) after Basic installation and update installation and before restart of PC: writing can NOT be performed via the network. Ping status not investigated c) after Basic installation and update installation and before restart of PC: writng can not be performed via the network. Device settings via Windows and ping connection functions well though, although the printer is reported by Windows 'Devices and printers' as off-line.

I am hopeful a driver or firmware update will resolve this issue. Hi hp_ik I understand the printer keeps losing the network connection. I will be happy to assist you with this. I have provided a for the printer not maintaining a wireless connection. I would setup the static IP for the printer to see if this will resolve the issue.

Check for any change while the printer located at the same room as the router, but no closer than 2m away from the router. If the same behaviour appears make sure to print a configuration report: What is the listed signal quality and wireless channel? As well please clarify your router model. Regards, Shlomi. Well it lost connection to the router and it was in the same room at the distance you specified with nothing in the way to block or interfere with the signal.

See HP Rewards qualifying and eligible products/purchases are defined as those from the following categories: Printers, Business PCs (Elite, Pro and Workstation brands), select Business Accessories and select Ink, Toner & Paper. I have updated the firmware on the printer (and router) to the latest version and set a static IP address as well. DHCP yielded the same results. Following some advice on this forum I have even disabled SNMP though I don't think that would be the problem.

A couple of interesting oddities stand out: a) It is only my PC in the network that faces the problem, the other Win 7 PC in the network did never take the critical update referred to. I am the one with the Sony Vaio, Win 7 64bit, and have commented previouosly in this thread.

Can you get into its settings? If you can then look for and enable 'Multicasting'. If not you will have to contact the router company. Disconnect the routers power cable, wait 10 seconds, then reconnect the power cable.

Have spoken with online help desk who are helpful but the driver really leaves a lot to be desired. To print, often I have to delete my printer driver in system preferences (print and fax icon). I print a test page and get the IP address of the printer, and re-install the driver. 'Laserjet socket or something' is option I follow. Only then it prints. Upon printing, sometimes jobs are not completed. To get the next job to print you have to delete the previous job from the print queue for that printer (located in same place in print and fax icon).

Then the only conclusion would be incompatibility between HP 2011 drivers for the CP1025 and the Sony flavour of Win 7 64 bit Professional. And I would have to (again) claim the driver package as faulty. The alternative would be to forget about the CP1025 already now. Any suggestions? Some problems I have experienced printing with the cumbersome CP1025nw. Running Mac OSX. It seems that often communication problems occur.
