If I open the safe on a regular weekly basis as soon as I enter the code the lock will make TWO short electronic noises and then I turn the wheel to open the safe. If I do not open the safe for about a month, the electronic lock will only make ONE short electronic noise and will still open. My question is it normal for the lock to behave in this manner depending on how often the safe is opened?

Is there any delay between the bursts? On the first burst, do you hear a rattling sound, like the sound made when the bolt extends to lock? I suspect that the problem is the nut engagement with the lead screw.

By the way when I put the wrong code in, one of the reasons these locks are so good - if you put the wrong code in four times in a row, you get a lock out penalty. So it just takes forever to try and manipulate these electronic locks.

I have several generations and types of the S&G motor locks here in my lock collection, none of them make that secondary buzz sound. However, if that Mesa guy is demonstrating a good lock, it clearly has that double grind going on there. Maybe it's okay, I am a little puzzled frankly.
